Health Buzz has been launched.

Blackburn with Darwen Healthy Living have launched their new Mobile Gym and Health Education Centre (The Health Buzz)..

The Health Bus has been developed to offer easily accessible and affordable gym provision and health provision and health awareness information, advice and support to all sections of the community, including schools, rural neighbourhoods, community organisations and businesses.

The range of services available include a cardiovascular gym, healthy eating and cooking, weight management and a stop smoking service.

The Health Buzz is accessible, innovative, inspiring and eye catching and is a focal point for change.  It aims to raise awareness, educate and empower people to make positive and sustainable life enhancing choices for health

The Health Buzz is a double decker bus which has been converted to deliver health intervention activities. The lower deck has been transformed into a fitness gym which includes exercise bikes and rowing machines, the upper deck has been fitted with a teaching kitchen, seating and a private consultation room, used to deliver education workshops.

The Health Bus has already been commissioned by Darwen and Rural Neighbourhood Board and will target hard to reach groups in urban neighbourhoods and isolated communities in rural parts of Darwen so that residents can benefit from this unique resource.
