Woman 2 Woman

Woman 2 Woman is a new scheme launched by Blackburn with Darwen Healthy Living aimed at increasing cancer awareness. The aim is to increase awareness of cervical and breast cancer screening, particularly in ethnic minority women, in the north neighbourhood.

This pilot project is the first initiative in the North West and is funded by Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Network. The project is aiming to help women access and raise awareness for both screening in a variety of community engagement and development models in partnership with 3 GP Practices in Blackburn with Darwen to meet their overall national targets for breast and cervical screening. The project will also be working closely with Quality Assurance, LaSCA, PCT and East Lancashire Breast Screening Unit to meet its aims.
