information, this Health Profile has
been designed to support action by
local government and primary care
trusts to tackle health inequalities
and improve people's health.
Northwest Healthy Living Network
Blackburn with Darwen Healthy Living is affilliated with the Healthy Living Network, which is a regional representative of the Healthy Living Alliance (HLA) the National body for Healthy Living Initiatives.
Providing practical support to Healthy Living Initiatives (HLIs) across the North West of England, to help improve the health and wellbeing of local communities and individuals.
What does the network offer?
Information Sharing
Ensuring HLIs are kept up to date with the latest news, policy & best practice approaches.
HLIs benefit from quarterly newsletters, website access, publications, workshops & an annual conference.
Research and Consultancy
Developing opportunities for research across the Network in order to identify best practice in HLIs.
Informing & influencing Regional & National health partners on evidence based approaches.
Providing consultancy services for HLIs and other stakeholders, to ensure successful planning, delivery, management and evaluation of Healthy Living Initiatives and their projects.
Grant Management
Co-ordinating grants between members to deliver healthy living projects across the region.
Improving the health of our communities is a big challenge, don’t go it alone.
Funding Support
Offering advice on funding opportunities, providing support with funding applications and assisting with sustainability planning.
3rd Sector Support
Working with Voluntary & Community Sector HLIs to ensure they reach their full potential. Support is available on legal issues, Human Resources, Business Planning, Trustee Development etc.
