Health Buzz

We have recently launched an innovative new mobile gym bus, called the Health Buzz. It is fitted with cardiovascular gym equipment downstairs, and a kitchen area upstairs. The bus can offer advice to young people about food, healthy eating, practical food preparation and cooking, as well as individual and group physical activities. For adults there are weight management, healthy eating, healthy cooking and physical activity sessions. Whether you are a School, Community Group, Local Authority or Housing Association, the buzz can be accommodated at numerous venues offering a range of services.

Highercroft Community Gym and Food Co-op.

Highercroft Community Gym and the Food Co-operative have been relaunched at Highercroft community centre, after being shut for refurbishment. They are both looking good and doing well. The Gym offers a range of equipment, while the food co-op sells fresh, high quality produce at cost price.

The Citizens Jury, with funding and support from Blackburn with Darwen Healthy Living and funding for the food co-op from Twin Valley Homes originally opened the community gym and food co-op in February 2009.
